ANCOM on Murray Inc. [ABN: 58 742 996 740] is an ACNC registered charity in the process of registration as an RTO, expected to be in place by August 2019.
ANCOM on Murray Inc. has two registered trading names:
- Australian Cruise Academy - contracted and sponsored by a cruise company operating foreign cruise ships on the Australian coast and into the South Pacific. Academy will provide Australian Accredited Residential Academy training onboard cruise ship in all aspects of tourism, hospitality and associated industries. The first admission of students is expected in February 2021
- ACA College on Murray - is in preliminary planning to establish a riverfront campus on the Murray in South Australia.
ROLE DESCRIPTION:
This is an ideal role for a couple who are happy to work together in a supportive shared role working with young people. A Salary share for a mobile couple is preferred. (FTE A+B = 1) Full board accommodation provided. This share position allows for workload sharing and time out together to enjoy the cruise.
This could be a one-semester contract enjoying the experience while assisting a group of young trainees.
The Academy Master(s) is responsible to the Principal for working with groups of post-secondary school students in the teacher/parent role onboard the ships. Some training and assessing as well as general supervision will be required.
The Academy Master(s) will:
- Manage the supervision of the Academy function at Campus.
- Liaise with the contract trainer assessors providing specific training programs with the students.
- Provide training and assessing for Academy students
- Provide assessment functions when working with ship's staff as industry experts
- Manage effective communications with College administrators and teachers
- Provide the communication link between Academy students with the Principal as may be necessary
- Effectively and efficiently manage the communications processes associated with this role using the PowerPro RTO cloud-based management system and other suitable agreed secure electronic communication systems with the Principal.
- Participate in the development of new training opportunities.
- Participate in ASQA RTO Audit processes as required by the Principal
A total package for the role is negotiable.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
- Demonstrated ability to establish positive effective working relationships with Academy staff and students, and an ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and to maintain effective communication systems, organise priorities and meet agreed timelines.
- Rapid familiarisation with the use of PowerPro RTO technology and communication systems and experience in working independently and as part of a team to achieve desirable outcomes, providing services to a wide range of people both in the office and onboard ships at sea.
- A commitment to promoting and creating a safe and inclusive work environment; and the legislative requirements of Equal Opportunity and Work Health and Safety legislation
QUALIFICATIONS:
- ESSENTIAL (one person within the team if a shared Salary Role)
- Prepared to train for TAEIV Trainer Assessor qualification
- Competent in computer cloud-based clerical functions including online database management systems
